Common Pond Questions Answered

At Epiphany Ponds & Landscaping, we understand that maintaining your pond or water feature can come with a lot of questions. Whether you're dealing with leaks, curious about koi pond depths, or wondering about the cost of our services, we're here to help. Check out our frequently asked questions below to get expert advice and guidance on all your pond-related concerns!

Q: HELP! My pond is leaking!

Relax and take a deep breath, everything will be fine! 90% of all pond leaks occur in areas where water leaves/re-enters the pond, such as a waterfall or fountain. The first thing you should try is the 24 Hour Test. Turn the pump off, top-up the pond, then monitor the water level over a period of 24 hours. If the water level remains the same over a 24 hour period while the pump(s) is shut off, you can safely rule out the pond liner and shift your focus to the waterfall, stream, or fountain.

Q: Does my pond need to be 4 feet deep to have koi fish?

There are thousands of two-foot deep ponds around the country, full of happy and healthy Koi fish. But how? How important is depth? Check out this link to find out!

Q: Why do you charge a consultation fee?

We understand that charging a consultation fee may seem unusual, and we want to assure you that it's not intended to come across negatively. Here's the reasoning behind it:

As a well-established company known for creating stunning water features, we receive numerous requests from homeowners seeking advice and inspiration for their outdoor spaces. While we love helping people envision their dream backyards, we are a small, family-run business, and unfortunately, not everyone is able to proceed with a professionally installed water feature.

The $150 consultation fee helps us focus on clients who are serious about investing in their outdoor space. This fee doesn’t fully cover the time and expertise we put into designing a unique and beautiful water feature, but it allows us to manage our time efficiently and ensure we can continue providing high-quality service.

As a Certified Aquascape Contractor, we’ve dedicated significant time, energy, and resources to becoming one of the best in our field. Much like any professional, such as a doctor, our time and expertise have value.

We hope this explanation clarifies why we charge a consultation fee. After many years in business, we’ve consistently found that our clients feel the fee is more than worth the investment. Give us a try, and we’re confident you’ll agree!

Q: What Does a Pond or Water Feature Cost?

Easily one of the most commonly asked questions we get is “how much does a professionally installed water feature cost?” We offer a variety of different water options including Ecosystem Ponds, Pondless Waterfalls, Decorative Fountainscapes, and Rainwater Harvesting Systems that can be designed to fit most spaces and budgets ranging from $5000 - $18,000.
